Optimalisasi Lingkungan Melalui Green Garden Dan Partisipasi Masyarakat Di Kelurahan Tebing Tinggi Okura

The Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata/KKN) conducted by Group 8 in Tebing Tinggi Okura Urban Village, Rumbai Timur District, Pekanbaru City, aimed to optimize the use of vacant land around Mekar Sari Community Health Post (Posyandu) and increase community participation in environmental management. The main program was implemented through the Green Garden initiative using Focus Group Discussion (FGD), collaborative activities, and community-based evaluation. The activities included observing the land conditions, planning, cleaning and arranging the area, constructing a herbal plant rack, planting, and maintenance. The utilized land measured 4.2 × 10.8 m, covering approximately 45.36 m². The results showed that the Green Garden was successfully established with 30 ornamental plants and approximately 50 herbal plants, along with a two-tier herbal plant rack measuring 4 × 1 m. In addition to the Green Garden, the KKN activities included installing street name signs, conducting hoax awareness campaigns, participating in religious activities, commemorating Independence Day on August 17, and other community activities. Overall, the program contributed to creating a more organized environment and encouraged community involvement in environmental maintenance.
